Welcome to Raíces! Our mission is rooted in the ancient cultures from around the world that have transmitted their sacred healing knowledge from generation to generation over thousands of years. We work with medicine systems from Ancient India through Ayurveda & Yoga, as well as ancient indigenous healing traditions from the Amazon Rainforest. At Raíces, we work with these ancient healing methods to allow us to reconnect with our human essence- our ties to nature, our ancestral lineage, and our true selves.

Our mission at Raíces is to share this timeless wisdom and healing medicines with our communities, helping to alleviate suffering and promote well-being. We offer online & in-person 1:1 Ayurvedic wellness advising and host frequent events on the topics of Ayurveda and traditional medicines. We also have a natural apothecary in Costa Rica (below)that includes Hape, plant extracts, and amazonian plant tinctures.

In an effort to give back to the stewards of the land in Costa Rica, we support our family-run farm in Guanacaste, Costa Rica by purchasing their organic A2 milk and crafting traditional Vedic ghee, buttermilk, and yogurt. This farm is run by local Costa Ricans who have maintained the tradition of this land for hundreds of years. If you would like to help us support these land keepers, we thank you deeply. It is with an open heart we welcome you on this journey back to our roots, nuestros raíces, together.

Founders

Samantha cushing

Samantha is a medicine woman, musician, mother, and Ayurvedic health counselor. She walks the path of the Yage with the Amazonian ancestral medicines under the Inga and Siona lineages of Colombia with her teacher Taita Juanito. She is also a student of Ayurveda & Yoga and offers consults online and in-person. Samantha spends her free time in her garden, tending to her cows, and playing music.

luis fernando guadamuz

Luis is a Costa Rican healer and medicine man. He began his spiritual path in 2010 with crystal bowls and sound healings. In 2018, he started his path with the Amazonian ancestral lineage under Taita Juanito. He is dedicated to sharing the ancestral tradition of the Amazonian plants with all of humanity and is happy to help anyone who feels called to this form of healing. He is a proud father of three kids and enjoys spending time in his garden, and playing music. Pura Vida!!
